The Silent mode runs at 60W and runs at lower fan noise, and Balanced runs tat 100W but will be louder than Silent, around the levels of the current GPD G1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Updated HDMI interface<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The HDMI interface has been updated to v2.1 of the TMDS protocol. It supports up to 4K\/120Hz output.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">USB 4 port improvements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The USB 4 port will now support up to 65W power supply. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">GPD G1 revision release date<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Mass production and launch is expected at the end of February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-is-the-gpd-g1-portable-egpu\">What is the GPD G1 portable eGPU?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/droix.eu\/en-ie\/product\/gpd-g1\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/droix.eu\/en-ie\/product\/gpd-g1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GPD G1<\/a> portable eGPU is a combined external GPU (<a href=\"https:\/\/droix.eu\/en-ie\/product-category\/egpu\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/droix.eu\/en-ie\/product-category\/egpu\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">eGPU<\/a>) with traditional docking station ports. The external GPU will take control over the iGPU and provide high end graphics performance rivaling many desktop PC&#8217;s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-are-the-gpd-g1-portable-egpu-technical-specifications\">What are the GPD G1 portable eGPU technical specifications?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It has been confirmed that the <a href=\"https:\/\/droix.eu\/en-ie\/product\/gpd-g1\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/droix.eu\/en-ie\/product\/gpd-g1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GPD G1 eGPU docking statio<\/a>n will be using the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amd.com\/en\/products\/graphics\/amd-radeon-rx-7600m-xt\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.amd.com\/en\/products\/graphics\/amd-radeon-rx-7600m-xt\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">AMD Radeon RX 7600M XT<\/a> graphics card. The 7600M XT has 32 Compute Units (CU) running up to 2300MHz with 8GB GDDR6 RAM at 120W TDP. OCuLink is an alternative to using USB Thunderbolt and can offer speeds up to 16GB\/s compared to Thunderbolt 4 at 5GB\/s. For &#8216;backwards compatibility&#8217; with other devices, there is high speed USB Type-C Thunderbolt 4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">G1 Dock Size<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The dock is very portable and with a size of 8.07 x  4.3 x 1.14 inches (20.5 x 11.0 x 2.9 cm), it is smaller than a Steam Deck and Nintendo Switch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What user ports will the GPD G1 portable dock have?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This is as yet unconfirmed and based on the images we have.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be a direct PCIe port and USB Type-C port on the front supporting high speed data transfer for video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the back are three USB 3 ports, a full size SD card reader, two DisplayPort and one HDMI port.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What power supply is supported?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/droix.eu\/en-ie\/product\/gpd-g1\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/droix.eu\/en-ie\/product\/gpd-g1\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">G1<\/a> portable eGPU dock will have a (possibly built-in) 240W GaN power supply which will be enough to power the dock and connected <a href=\"https:\/\/droix.eu\/en-ie\/product-category\/gaming-consoles\/portable-game-consoles-gaming-consoles\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/droix.eu\/en-ie\/product-category\/gaming-consoles\/portable-game-consoles-gaming-consoles\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">portable games console<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-when-will-the-gpd-g1-portable-egpu-be-released\">When will the GPD G1 portable eGPU be released?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be review samples available around May\/June 2023 so we would expect the consumer version will be available shortly afterwards. Once we have the final price, we will update here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is worth noting that is a very competitive price. When compared with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/ASUS-External-Low-Latency-Connection-GC31S-004-Black\/dp\/B0BS792JBX\/\" target=\"_blank\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/ASUS-External-Low-Latency-Connection-GC31S-004-Black\/dp\/B0BS792JBX\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">ASUS ROG XG eGPU<\/a> dock which costs around $1,868\/\u00a31,506, it is over double the price, for a Nvidia GeForce 3080.
