Currently supported casting using YouTube app on Android, Apple iOS and from the Chrome browser<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Auto Refresh rate switching fix for Kodi has been added<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br>(Before we continue, a reminder this update is written for (and available to)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">T8-S devices ONLY<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>, T8 and T8-S Plus devices have their own updates released previously.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Back to the Changelog:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The DroidBOX Share application has been updated. Now supports Android 6.0, AirPlay playback in YouTube has been fixed and iOS 9.0 support was added<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>DBMC (version 16.1.2) has been added as the default media player<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kodi (version 16.1 RC2) also added<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The \"YouTube for Android TV\" application has been added<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>DroidBOX's Control Centre application has been updated<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A few minor Launcher\u00a0tweaks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How<\/strong> (Instructions)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You will need to have at least 1Gb of space left on your device (for the firmware file to be downloaded for you).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If during this process you are presented with a simple text menu, select the REBOOT option. Then return to the OTA Updater application, initiate the update again and it will&nbsp;complete fully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/JeutSLU7BBY?rel=0\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For those that prefer their steps written out, read on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.droix.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/OTAUpdaterIcon.png\" alt=\"OTAUpdaterIcon\" class=\"wp-image-799\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Run the OTA Updater app, (click the My Apps or circle with six dots on your homescreen to find the list of all applications installed, then scroll down.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You DON'T use the UPDATE&amp;BACKUP app, neither is the System Update button found within the Other tab of the Settings area relevant here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/droix.net\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/DoNotUseT8-SOtherSettings-300x182.png\" alt=\"Do Not Use T8-S Other Settings\" class=\"wp-image-797\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/droix.net\/blogs\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/DoNotUseUpdateAndBackupIcon.png\" alt=\"Do Not Use Update And Backup\" class=\"wp-image-798\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Once the process has completed, please sign back into Google's Play Store (see here) to enable auto-updating of your applications, click on the\u00a0Settings menu in the top right of your screen) and turn ON Auto-Update at all times if you're using a network (ethernet) cable, rather than WiFi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>When<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are happy with your current T8-S firmware, there is no <em>requirement<\/em> to update.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Why?
