Q+box playback only 320p

I am trying yo use the Q+ 9.0 box to stream video content to my customers. The content is H264 HD 1080 and streams perfectly on other android boxes. I want to use the Q+ as it allows management software but on install of all apk's the only issue i have is that playback is 320p resolution and looks awful.... anyone have any ideas?

Could it be your display settings are set at like 360p or something?

Or maybe it might be related to the app being used. I know many high-profile streaming services don't do HD on android boxes due to them requiring a verification process.
