Download all of the above (where applicable), and we can proceed with the flashing process.<\/p>\n\n
Install the Qualcomm Software<\/h2>\n\n
You’ll need to install the Qualcomm USB drivers and firmware before proceeding . Fortunately, this is extremely straightforward.<\/p>\n\n
First, extract the QPST tool. In it will be a folder and a few files.<\/p>\n\n
Run the QPST.2.7.496.1.exe<\/strong> file. This is a regular installation process, so just follow the prompts and you’ll be good to go.<\/p>\n\n
Once this is set up, you’ll need to install the Qualcomm USB drivers. In the Driver<\/strong> subfolder. Run the Qualcomm USB Driver V1.0.exe<\/strong> file. Then select WWAN-HCP is not used to get IPAddress<\/strong> option.<\/p>\n\n
Select Next, and then just continue through the installation as normal.<\/p>\n\n

<\/figure>\n\nEnsure you have downloaded and extracted the MOQI i7s firmware file from the previous section (MUCH-i7s-9.6.35.zip<\/strong>), and you can continue with the installation process.<\/p>\n\n
MOQI i7s Firmware Installation Process<\/h2>\n\n
With the QPST now installed, you’ll need to open a program called QFIL <\/strong>(Qualcomm Flash Image Loader).<\/p>\n\n
By default, this will be located in the following directory:<\/p>\n\n
C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Qualcomm\\QPST\\bin\\QFIL.exe<\/pre>\n\n
Run this executable file, and the QFIL program will open. On the first run, it will look something like this.<\/p>\n

<\/figure>\n<\/div>\nUnder Select Build Type<\/strong>, change the selected option to Flat Build<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n
You will then need to point various fields to the correct files. <\/p>\n\n
Click Browse…<\/strong> and navigate to the MOQI i7s firmware folder (by default, called MUCH-i7s-9.6.35<\/strong>). Select the prog_firehose_ddr.elf<\/strong> file.<\/p>\n\n
At this stage, the Download <\/strong>button will still be greyed out. Select Load XML… <\/strong>and then chose rawprogram0_NOFLASH_FSG.xml<\/strong> and patch0.xml<\/strong> from the MOQI i7s firmware folder.<\/p>\n\n
\n\nConnecting the MOQI i7s<\/h2>\n\n
Next, we’ll need to connect the MOQI i7S in download mode<\/strong> to our PC.<\/p>\n\n
To put the MOQI i7s in download mode, first ensure that it is turned off<\/strong> (but also has enough charge to power on).<\/p>\n\n
Then, hold both the volume up<\/strong> and volume down<\/strong> buttons, and press the power button<\/strong> for about ~5 seconds.<\/p>\n\n
You will know you are successfully in download mode when the device does not respond to power button presses.<\/p>\n\n
(To exit<\/strong> download mode, hold the power button down for a long time. About <\/em>~15 seconds).<\/p>\n\n
Now connect the device to your PC or laptop via the USB cable.<\/p>\n\n

The USB Type-C port on the MOQI i7S<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n
\n\nAfter connecting the device, go back to the QFIL and chose Select port…<\/strong>, and you should see a new device in the list called Qualcomm HS-USB-QDLoader XXXX<\/strong> (where XXXX will be a random number). Select it.<\/p>\n\n
Finally<\/strong>, click Configuration<\/strong> at the top of the application and open FireHose configuration.<\/p>\n\n
Enable Reset After Download<\/strong>, and click OK.<\/p>\n\n

The QFIL FireHose Configuration<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n Now you’re ready to reflash! Double check to ensure that your QFIL window looks identical to this (or at least almost – as the directory you have saved the files in may be named differently). Then click Download<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

<\/figure>\n\nThe process will take a minute or two to complete. Once finished, your MOQI i7s will automatically restart (exiting download mode in the process).<\/p>\n\n
