{"id":37991,"date":"2021-11-20T18:43:56","date_gmt":"2021-11-20T18:43:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/droix.net\/knowledge-base\/article\/how-to-connect-retroflag-gpi-case-to-wifi\/"},"modified":"2021-11-20T18:43:56","modified_gmt":"2021-11-20T18:43:56","slug":"how-to-connect-retroflag-gpi-case-to-wifi","status":"publish","type":"kb","link":"https:\/\/droix.net\/knowledge-base\/en-gb\/article\/how-to-connect-retroflag-gpi-case-to-wifi\/","title":{"rendered":"How to connect Retroflag GPi case to WiFi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">You need to have a Raspberry Pi <strong>Zero W<\/strong> installed, a <strong>Zero<\/strong> does not support WiFi or Bluetooth.<\/p>\n<p>Create a new text file and name it <strong>wpa_supplicant.conf<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Open the <strong>wpa_supplicant.conf<\/strong> file with notepad (or notepad++).<\/p>\n<p>Copy and paste the following text in to the file<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>country=US<br \/>\nctrl_interface=DIR=\/var\/run\/wpa_supplicantGROUP=netdev<br \/>\nupdate_config=1<br \/>\nnetwork={<br \/>\nssid=&#8221;your_wifi_ssid&#8221;<br \/>\npsk=&#8221;your_wifi_password&#8221;<br \/>\nkey_mgmt=WPA-PSK<br \/>\npriority=1<br \/>\n}<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>You can now update the three lines shown below in the red boxes<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/droix.net\/knowledge-base\/en-gb\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2021\/11\/gpi-wifi-setup-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2390\" src=\"https:\/\/droix.net\/knowledge-base\/en-gb\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2021\/11\/gpi-wifi-setup-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"394\" height=\"128\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Replace the country code if needed (GB, FR, DE, ES, US, CA etc..).<\/p>\n<p>Replace <strong>your_wifi_ssdid<\/strong> with your wifi ssid (ex: \u2018\u2019homewifi\u2019\u2019).<\/p>\n<p>Replace <strong>your_wifi_password<\/strong> with your wifi password (ex: \u2018\u20191234\u2019\u2019).<\/p>\n<p>Save and copy it to the root of boot partition on your Micro SD Card (the only partition you see on PC after burning the image file).<\/p>\n<p>Copy it on <strong>wifibackup<\/strong> folder too for an easy re enable by script.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/droix.net\/knowledge-base\/en-gb\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2021\/11\/gpi-wifi-setup-2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-2391\" src=\"https:\/\/droix.net\/knowledge-base\/en-gb\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2021\/11\/gpi-wifi-setup-2-300x114.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"114\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Insert the Micro SD Card back into the Retroflag GPi case and it is now ready to use.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You need to have a Raspberry Pi Zero W installed, a Zero does not support WiFi or Bluetooth.
