IMPORTANT:<\/strong> This guide is for the GPD XD+<\/strong> (Plus)<\/strong> only, NOT the GPD XD. Do not attempt to install this on the GPD XD as it may cause irreversible damage to the device!<\/p>\n

Download one of the firmware files and Flashing Tool file to your PC.<\/p>\n

Firmware<\/strong>
\nThe latest firmware can be downloaded from https:\/\/www.gpd.hk\/gpdxdplusfirmware<\/a><\/p>\n

Flashing Tool<\/strong>
\nhttps:\/\/1drv.ms\/u\/s!AlRdlhGu3fjih2A2I12IynAOo5cX<\/a><\/p>\n

Create a new folder on your PC hard drive and call it \u201cGPD XD Plus<\/strong>\u201d for easy reference<\/p>\n

Extract the contents of both downloads to the newly created folder. Once extracted it should look similar to the below image:<\/p>\n

Navigate in the \u201c<\/span>batch tool driver<\/b>\u201d folder, then \u201c<\/span>SP_Driver_V1524<\/b>\u201d folder. And run the \u201c<\/span>DriverInstall.exe\u201d<\/b> driver installation file<\/span><\/p>\n

Follow and accept any prompts to install the drivers. Please ignore any Install Failed error messages like the one below. Once the installation is complete, restart your PC.<\/span><\/p>\n

Navigate to the \u201c<\/span>batch tool driver<\/b>\u201d folder, then \u201c<\/span>SP_Flash_Tool_exe_Windows_v5.1720.00.000<\/b>\u201d folder. <\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Choose the <\/span>flash_tool.exe<\/b> application and wait a few moments for it to load. You can ignore any warning or error messages that may show.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Pick the \u201c<\/span>Choose<\/b>\u201d folder icon alongside the \u201cScatter-loading File\u201d as shown below<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Navigate to \u201c<\/span>GPD_EN-images-v1.07_20171228user<\/b>\u201d folder, then \u201c<\/span>images<\/b>\u201d, and choose the \u201c<\/span>MT8173_Android_scatter.txt<\/b>\u201d file. It may take a few seconds for the data to load and you will see similar to the below image.<\/span><\/p>\n

Click on the \u201c<\/span>Download Only<\/b>\u201d drop down menu and select \u201c<\/span>Firmware Upgrade<\/b>\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Click on the green <\/span>Download <\/b>button.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Switch off your GPD XD+ device if it is not already.<\/span><\/p>\n

Connect the USB cable to your PC, press and hold the <\/span>VOL-<\/b> button on the GPD XD+ and while doing so, insert the micro USB cable into the GPD XD+. <\/span><\/p>\n

The software should now connect and begin the firmware update procedure.<\/span> DO NOT REMOVE ANY CABLES OR CLOSE THE SOFTWARE.<\/b><\/p>\n

The update procedure usually takes around 10-15 minutes. Leave it running until you see the \u201c<\/span>Download OK<\/b>\u201d prompt below.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Once the firmware has been updated, you can now remove the USB cable, then power on the GPD XD+.<\/span><\/p>\n

NOTE:<\/b>The first boot after a firmware flash or factory reset it will take longer than usual to boot as it is setting up the operating system for first use.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
