GPD product leaks for 2023 – GPD Mini, GPD Pocket 4 and GPD P4 MAX

GPD Products Leaked - WIN Mini, Pocket 4 and P4 MAX

Details on GPD product leaks for 2023 have been passed to us in a secret note overnight! While we have this on very good authority; names, specifications etc may change by the time they are released. We will be updating this page with more details as we get them.

GPD WIN Mini

The first in the GPD product leaks is a new model in the hugely popular GPD WIN series of gaming handheld PC’s. The GPD WIN Mini will be, according to the details we read, an entry level model. Despite being called the ‘Mini’ it will supposedly have a 7” display, one inch larger than the GPD WIN 4.

The GPD WIN 4 is a powerful handheld PC that features an AMD Ryzen 7 6800U processor, an AMD Radeon 680M GPU, up to 32GB LPDDR5 RAM, with a resolution of 1080P.

Being that it will be an entry level model, we reckon that it will have a lower end processor than say the GPD WIN MAX 2 and WIN 4 models and potentially a lower screen resolution of 720P or 800P. We would also expect as a result that it will be a lower cost. No release date was given but we may see this sooner rather than late this year.

GPD Pocket 4

The Pocket series of laptops from GPD is also getting an update according to the GPD product leaks. The GPD Pocket 4 will feature a AMD Ryzen 7 7840 based processor. It does not mention whether it will be the AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS or 7840U, but going by previous models it will be the U model.

The AMD Ryzen 7 7840U features 8 cores and 16 threads with a base clock of 3.3Ghz (not confirmed) with a TDP range of 15-28W. With the AMD Ryzen 7 7840U processor we will also see the new 780M graphics which will be great for a range of tasks for both work and gaming.

The current GPD Pocket 3 runs on the popular Intel Core i7-1195G7 which for professional day to day use is great. But if you wanted to game on it, the Pocket 3 fell far behind the awesome Ryzen 7 6800U processor used in the WIN 4 and MAX 2 models.

The GPD Pocket 3 was perhaps best known for its rotating screen which transformed it from a laptop to a tablet style device. We liked this feature and its very handy in day to day work tasks, we hope to see it again in the GPD Pocket 4! The expected release date is Q4 2023.

GPD P4 MAX

Another laptop was mentioned in the GPD product leaks. Following from their successful GPD P2 MAX the P4 MAX will be coming later this year. The GPD P2 MAX was a mini-laptop that weighs just 1.4 pounds and measures 8.4″ x 5.9″ x 0.6″1. It featured the largest keyboard of any GPD notebook to date, making it much more suitable for touch typing. It also has a real touchpad instead of an optical touch sensor, and a webcam.

The GPD P2 MAX handled daily tasks very well and was not found wanting for a faster or larger sized laptop rather than a small laptop. But it was suited for the professional side rather than gaming with the Intel Core i7-1195G7. The GPD P4 MAX is also expected to feature the AMD Ryzen 7 7840 series processor, likely the 7840U model if that is what will be used on the forthcoming Pocket 4.

One very interesting specification is that the GPD P4 MAX will have “dual touch screen”. Our sources confirm that this will be two displays. Could we see an additional display on the lower half, or maybe a foldable layout? Like the Pocket 3, the release date is Q4 2023.

We will be updating this GPD product leaks page with any further details as we receive them. let us know in the comments or on social media what you think about the new products? Are the technical specifications what you expected? Any ideas on the designs for the Win Mini?

GPD G1 Portable eGPU

GPD will also be releasing their first eGPU dock. The GPD G1 eGPU will feature the AMD Radeon RX 7600M XT graphics card. The 7600M XT has 32 Compute Units running up to 2300MHz with 8GB GDDR6 RAM at 120W TDP. It is roughly comparable with an Nvidia 3070 GPU.

The dock measures approx. 20.5 x 110 x 29 cm and will support Thunderbolt with USB 4 as well as OCuLink support which is great to hear. It will have a built in 240W GaN power supply.

No release date has been announced but is expected sooner this year rather than later. You can follow this article for up to date information on the G1, or bookmark our GPD G1 portable eGPU page.
