Overall we have a great selection of ports, including USB-4 Type-C which means we can connect an eGPU such as the GPD G1 or ONEXPLAYER ONEXGPU, and if we want the best performance the ONEXPLAYER ONEXGPU 2 with AMD Radeon RX 7800M GPU.

GEEKOM A6 Technical Specifications

We continue our GEEKOM A6 review with a look at the technical specifications as well as our own power usage, fan noise and temperature tests. The GEEKOM A6 comes with the AMD Ryzen 6800H Processor with 8 cores and 16 threads running up to 4.7GHz. For the graphics we have the AMD Radeon 680M which is a capable GPU for this price range of mini PC.

We get a score of 6,430 which puts us around a 14% difference to the more expensive GEEKOM A8. We see a very close score compared with the Intel powered GT13 Pro.

Cinebench R23

Cinebench tests the CPU’s single and multi-core performance with rendering benchmarks.

The GEEKOM A6 scores 1,509 and 11,973 in its respective single and multi-core results. We see a 16% and 27% increase in performance on the G8. The GT13 Pro has a higher single core result, but a slightly lower multi-core score.

3DMARK

For 3DMARK benchmarks we are using Time Spy, Night Raid and Fire Strike to find out the overall performance of the CPU and GPU working together.

GEEKOM A6 3DMARK BENCHMARK COMPARISON
GEEKOM A6 3DMARK BENCHMARK COMPARISON

We got very respectable scores of 2,610, 25,137 and 6,639 across the three tests. The GEEKOM with the more powerful 780M GPU scores higher around 21, 10 and 14% difference. The GT13 Pro suffers when it comes to graphics performance with noticeably lower scores, with as low as a 30% drop in comparison.

Gaming Benchmarks

And as this is a mini PC for gaming, we can include some gaming benchmarks for this GEEKOM A6 review. For these older lower end gaming processors we are running at 720P to get a fair benchmark comparison.

Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077

Forza Horizon 5

GEEKOM A6 FORZA HORIZON 5 BENCHMARK COMPARISON

The GEEKOM A6 scores very well with an impressive 127 frames per second at 720P on the very low graphics settings. While the GEEKOM A8 does score around 30 frames per second higher due to the higher performing 780M GPU, we see the GT13 Pro with Intel graphics have around half the performance with only 67 frames per second.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

GEEKOM A6 SHADOW OF THE TOMB RAIDER BENCHMARK COMPARISON
GEEKOM A6 SHADOW OF THE TOMB RAIDER BENCHMARK COMPARISON

The A6 scores a very respectable 61 frames per second at 720P on what is a graphically demanding game. Interestingly the GT13 Pro has a similar score despite the lower graphics performance.

Street Fighter VI

In our Street Fighter benchmarks we are running at 720P on the highest graphics settings to really push the hardware. Keep in mind these are frames per second results.

We see some excellent scores with the GEEKOM A6 with it being very competitive with the A8 with similar results. The GT13 Pro again suffers with lower average frame rates.

Gaming Performance

We are checking out real-world gaming performance with optimal graphics settings for a mix of demanding and lower demanding games as part of our GEEKOM A6 review.

Forza Horizon 5

As we saw from our benchmark tests we got great scores with Forza Horizon 5. You can happily leave it at 720P on the High graphics and should see constant 60+ frames per second. You could go 1080P resolution and lower the graphics if you wanted to. And this is without any FSR, so there is plenty of scope for even higher frames rates.

Forza Horizon 5
Forza Horizon 5

Cyberpunk 2077

While we could not get a solid 60+ frames per second, we were able to set the resolution to 720P on the Low graphics settings and enable AMD FSR for a solid 30+ frames per second experience.

And for some lower demanding games we were able to run at 4K with no issues.

On Dead Cells, we achieved a steady 60 frames per second at 4K. With Hades II, the game ran smoothly at 4K on Medium graphics settings, or 1080P High if you prefer a higher resolution. TMNT Shredder’s Revenge delivered an effortless 60+ FPS at 4K. For the recently released Heroes of Hammerwatch II, we reached 4K Max settings with a solid 120+ FPS, provided your monitor supports it.

AMD FSR proves invaluable for handling more demanding games, as demonstrated with Cyberpunk. While not every graphically intensive game will hit 60+ FPS, many can manage around 30 FPS—though it’s worth noting that performance miracles should not be expected.

GEEKOM A6 Review Final Thoughts

Time to sum up our GEEKOM A6 review. With an RRP price difference of approximately $300 compared to the GEEKOM A8, the GEEKOM A6 offers exceptional value for money, especially for those on a budget, with a 56% lower cost. Despite this, the performance difference between the two is no more than 30%—averaging around 20%—making the A6 the clear winner in terms of price-to-performance ratio.

For everyday tasks, whether at home or in the office, the GEEKOM A6 truly shines. It handles demanding workloads effortlessly, from managing large office documents to general image editing and even light video editing.

Additionally, the A6 is perfect for home or work office setups, with support for quad 4K monitors or a single 8K monitor, enhancing productivity and multitasking.

Hades II

Gaming performance is also impressive. Forza Horizon runs beautifully, even at lower settings, and can be enjoyed on High at 720P or slightly reduced at 1080P. AMD FSR support in compatible games further enhances performance, as seen with Cyberpunk, where it transforms an otherwise unplayable experience into a smooth one.

Moreover, the addition of an eGPU via the USB-4 port significantly boosts graphics performance. This upgrade benefits not only gaming but also demanding tasks like video editing.
