If you have never performed a BIOS update it can be daunting. Our easy to follow step by step guide on how to update the GPD Duo BIOS to the latest version.
You will need a USB flash drive, any size should do. Format the memory stick to FAT32 to prepare it for the new files. Right click on the drive of the USB flash drive, choose Format and then Start to format it.
Next, download the BIOS files. Please note that that there are two different firmware updates depending on which CPU (HX 370 or 8840U) you have. DO NOT install the wrong firmware, as installing so could render the device inoperable. You can verify your model by checking the label on the back of the device or by viewing the CPU information in Windows Task Manager. If you’re unsure and purchased your GPD Duo from us at GPD Store, contact our support team with your order number, and we will confirm your model for you.

First extract the download archive. You will have two folders similar to below. Please note there may some differences due to version or model numbers.
Copy over all the contents of the folder to the root of your USB drive. Once the contents have copied over, switch off your GPD Duo. You will need at least 40% battery life for the BIOS update to install, and we recommend keeping it charged during the upgrade.
Now switch on the GPD WIN Mini and hold the F7 key until the boot menu appears. In our image below, the USB flash drive is the second option on the menu. Your flash drives name and menu option may be different. Choose your flash drive to proceed.
The first stage of the BIOS update will now start. You will see some progress text on screen, and once completed you will be prompted to press Y to continue.
After a few moments, the second stage of the update will begin. The below screen will appear to be doing nothing for a short amount of time. Do not switch off the GPD Duo.
