We are now taking pre-orders for the Retroid Pocket 5 and Retroid Pocket Flip 2, with stock currently expected around mid-June. If you have been waiting to buy either of these popular Android gaming handhelds from DROIX, you will not have long to wait!
Retroid Pocket 5
The Retroid Pocket 5 is a great option for anyone looking for a sleek Android gaming handheld with a premium feel and plenty of performance for retro gaming, emulation and native Android titles. It features a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a sharp 1920×1080 resolution at 60Hz, giving you vibrant colours, deep contrast and a noticeably more refined look than many handhelds in the same category.
Powering the Retroid Pocket 5 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor with Adreno 650 graphics, paired with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage, plus microSD card support if you want more room for games and media.
It is also a nicely balanced handheld in terms of size and portability, measuring around 19.9 x 7.85 x 1.56 cm and weighing approximately 280g. Alongside the strong core specs, you also get Android 13, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, active cooling, hall effect sticks, analogue L2/R2 triggers and a 5000mAh battery.

Retroid Pocket Flip 2
For those who prefer something a little different, the Retroid Pocket Flip 2 brings very similar hardware in a compact clamshell design. The Snapdragon 865 model features a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with 1080p resolution, the same Adreno 650 GPU, 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage, again with microSD expansion. It also runs Android 13 and includes Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, active cooling, hall sticks, analogue triggers and a 5000mAh battery, making it a strong all-rounder for gaming on the go.
The standout feature here is of course the folding design, which gives the Retroid Pocket Flip 2 a more compact shape when closed and helps protect the screen when travelling. It measures around 140.5 x 89.5 x 24.4 to 31 mm and weighs roughly 300g, so it stays very portable while still offering a comfortable gaming experience once opened up.
If you like the idea of a handheld that combines solid performance with a more distinctive form factor, this one is definitely worth a look. Check out the Retroid Pocket Flip 2 here.
With both models expected at DROIX around mid-June, now is a good time to decide which one suits your style best. If you want a sleek, premium handheld with a larger AMOLED display, the Retroid Pocket 5 is an easy one to watch. If you prefer the convenience and character of a clamshell design, the Retroid Pocket Flip 2 could be the better fit. Either way, both will soon be available from DROIX, so be sure to check them out and pre-order to ensure you get yours.
