The Retroid Pocket Flip is about the size of a Nintendo DS, and like Nintendo’s discontinued handhelds, it can fold in half like a book when you’re not using it.

What colours will the Retroid Pocket Flip have?

The Retroid Pocket Flip is a clamshell handheld that will come five colours: Sport Red, Black, “16Bit US” (which bears a colour scheme similar to that of North America’s Super Nintendo), Indigo (which looks like the same purple as the Gamecube), and Watermelon (a transparent red).

The Sport Red is a limited edition with only 1,500 units being made.

What controls will the Retroid Pocket Flip have?

The usual D-Pad and gaming buttons are present on the front. The gaming buttons are double injection moulded which means the ABXY logos will not chip, fade, or rub off.

Instead of the usual analogue sticks found on most emulator handhelds, Retroid have decided to go with slider controls for the Flip model. This is likely to keep the low profile as it is a clamshell design. Though other manufacturers have used traditional analogue sticks which were recessed in the shell as with their GPD XD and GPD XD+ models. The sliders are supposedly hall effect sensors and are clickable L3/R3. There are also two additional programmable buttons at the top next to the triggers.
