ONEXPLAYER 1S Official Hard-shell Case
We will start off with the official ONEXPLAYER 1S carry case. It’s a hard shell case, so is quite rigid and will protect the ONEXPLAYER 1S handheld from any knocks. There is a hand strap on one side if you wish to carry it.
The ONEXPLAYER 1S Windows handheld fits very snugly inside the case. It does require a little bit of effort to ensure it is fully in the case. Once it’s secure inside, you can zip up the case.
As the fit can be quite tight, removing the ONEXPLAYER 1S gaming handheld requires a little bit of force to do so. This may be easier over time as the case wears in more.
Overall it’s a decent case for the ONEXPLAYER 1S, it’s definitely recommended if you use the ONEXPLAYER 1S while out and about and are concerned about it getting scratches or scuffs. Some additional storage space inside would have been useful though.
ONEXPLAYER 1S Official Keyboard
Next up we have the official ONEXPLAYER 1S keyboard. The packaging matches the ONEXPLAYER 1S box design which is a nice touch!
On the top are a few pogo pins which connect to the ONEXPLAYER 1S and either side are guide pins.
The keyboard keys are low profile and have all the keys you would expect on a mini keyboard. On the bottom is a mousepad with clickable left and right mouse button areas.
The keyboard attaches to the handheld’s magnets very easily. Using the stand on the ONEXPLAYER handheld, it keeps at a great angle for typing and being able to see the screen.
The mouse pad is quite small and I found that using two fingers to scroll up and down was tricky. The mouse pad input would sometimes be recognised as a two finger tap for right mouse button input.
If you are used to mini keyboards then typing on this one should feel mostly fine. It’s more of a two finger type than typing using all of your fingers like on full size keyboards. It is expected on a mini keyboard, so that’s fine.
But once you start typing, it is where you can start to see some issues. The keyboard itself does not sit completely flat on the table. The top of the keyboard has some space between it and the surface and this results in some movement when typing.
The other issue is that the magnets are not very strong, and unless on a table, the keyboard easily separates from the handheld. Even with very little movement the keyboard breaks free.
The keyboard is fine for very quick typing, but so is the on screen keyboard. One bonus is that the keyboard flips over to protect the screen, but the magnet is weak and is liable to separate while in a bag.
Where to buy the ONEXPLAYER 1S Case and Keyboard
We highly recommend the ONEXPLAYER 1S hard shell carry case. But to be honest, the ONEXPLAYER 1S keyboard is a miss unless you want matching accessories. Your money would be better spent buying a Bluetooth keyboard.
