It is designed to fit the mini's dimensions perfectly. Case is between hard and soft. Hard enough to stop most damage. Though not a hard shell, so don't sit on it!

Neat but a tight squeeze
This is a pretty good case for keeping the Onexplayer safe around the house, but it's not a particularly hard shell so you might want to look for something more robust if you're traveling. Also, you do have to shove the device into the case a bit before you can zip it closed. Still, pretty happy with my purchase.
