ONEXFLY Specifications, Price and Release Date

NO! It's NOT an AYANEO Air!

One Netbook ONEXFLY PC Gaming Console colours

As Techtober is in full blast, with news about the GPD WIN 4 Gaming Handheld, GPD WIN Max 2 Pre-Orders and AYANEO Air Review – ONEXPLAYER did not miss a beat and here we are with the ONEXPLAYER ONEXFLY Specifications, Price and Release Date.

They have announced on their official Weibo channel a couple of colours of the ONEXFLY PC Gaming Handhelds.

If you are unfamiliar with ONEXPLAYER, perhaps you heard about ONEXPLAYER 1S before. ONEXPLAYER jumped onto the Handheld Gaming PCs niche not too long ago and shook the competition with the ONEXPLAYER 1S. Coming from the time when GPD was the only player, with devices such as the GPD XD and GPD WIN, we now have the likes of AYANEO, ANBERNIC and the most popular one, Valve with the Steam Deck.

The Handheld Gaming PCs niche is matured into a competitive, fast and dynamic niche of technology, and ONEXPLAYER really has to hit it out of the park with the ONEXFLY in order to “play the game” (See what I did there?)

Now, let’s talk about the ONEXFLY Specifications, Price and Release Date.

ONEXFLY Design

Now, if you never heard of the AYANEO Air Handheld, you may think that the ONEXFLY Design is innovative and out of the ordinary. To be fair, it’s not a 1:1 copy of the Air, and ONEXPLAYER are the first to come with a more natural design, when releasing the ONEXPLAYER Mini.

From pictures, it looks like the ONEXFLY’s design will be quite “friendly”, which is probably due to the fact that they want it to appeal to your casual gamer, whilst also keeping some die-hard gaming fans happy with the inclusion of RGB.

ONEXPLAYER ONEXFLY Image showing the…Cake colour?

The ONEXPLAYER ONEXFLY has a very similar layout to the ONEXPLAYER Mini, with the same controller layout and the display bezel. One thing we can instantly notice (apart from the cake) is the addition of more function buttons. These function buttons are great for quickly calling up the Task Manager, Keyboard and even desktop when you’re in a game.

As we have seen from ONEXPLAYER, they are now working on a “Game Assistant”, similar to AYA Space – which we expect to be tightly integrated within these function buttons.

To please even the most hardcore gamers that want their name on their gaming console, it looks like the ONEXFLY’s design allows for two areas where one can add some text that will be displayed when the console is on.

Whilst we’ve seen some reports from other publications that ONEXPLAYER might ditch the stacked shoulder buttons, we actually believe that the extra buttons you see at the top are function keys (just like the AYANEO Air).

In terms of colours, the ONEXFLY Gaming Handheld seems to come in a few colour variations. Above you have seen the Cake, and below you can see the Gainz (Don’t @ me) one.

Next up, the ONEXFLY Handheld seems to come in a more “Regal” tone, with golden accents around the device.

And, the most commonly known one, is the white and teal one. Dave 2D would approve.

ONEXFLY Pilot Colour

Its worth to keep in mind that the ONEXFLY Design choices might be different for Western customers, as we have seen with the Gundam offering of the ONEXPLAYER Mini.

As so much of the ONEXFLY seems to be on-par with the AYANEO Air, we can confidently say that ONEXPLAYER is definitely targeting the indie/casual spectrum of gamers.

The Ryzen 5 7520U is an APU that is designed to run at 15W, much like the Air from AYANEO, and we expect to see similar performance in games.

ONEXFLY Price

While we are still waiting for ONEXPLAYER to offer their price MAP, we expect the ONEXFLY to come in around the same retail price as the AYANEO Air, if not cheaper.

ONEXPLAYER ONEXFLY Release Date – When can I buy one?

ONEXPLAYER should make the ONEXFLY available to retailers in Q4 2022, and we will try to get them in stock just in time for Christmas.
