Amazing Product

Thought this was too good to be true but had to find out for myself. After a bit of prep with folders, Bios, ROMs etc it was easy to get everything up and running. A YouTube guide by Taki Udon was extremely helpful for anyone like me who's new to emulation.
The product itself is made well, it feels great, the included case is good quality. Would buy again for sure!

Droix and Retroid Pocket 2.

I have found that the Retroid pocket 2 is a wonderful retro gaming console. The customer service at Droix cannot be faulted. They are prompt in answering emails, and if there are any issues they are quick to rectify them. Thank you all at Droix.

Nice piece of kit

Great little device to relive the glory days of gaming. The ability to dual boot and use Android OS or Retroid's bespoke system is a good feature, with the latter including an easy means to add new roms directly to the device without the need for a PC etc. Around two to three thousand games are pre installed, with the emphasis being on original arcade games. Everything ran nicely up to PS1, with N64 mainly being fine. Dreamcast emulation wasn't so good with stock settings, but reviews I have seen contradict this, so likely would just need a little tinkering to get satisfactory performance. Comes in a nice range of colours and the service from DroiX was excellent, with next day delivery working well. Can be linked to an external display for easier two player action (hdmi cable included) if you're one of those fancy people with friends. Overall, a great little machine and it's really convenient to be able to buy from a reliable UK source, rather than entering an East - Asian lottery. Recommended machine and supplier.

Feels and looks great, Still not quite sure.

The console feels great, well constructed and good quality. The screen is great, crystal clear. The only complaint I have with the console itself is a very stiff D-Pad. I wanted it because I like Android and the emulators, but for some reason my machine freezes and chugs even just navigating the GUI. Every time I try to install an app from the google play store it crashes back to the desktop. And when I use a file manager like EZ or Astro it also crashes. No matter how I try it will not allow me to install apk’s from the SD card. I’m thinking it’s because of the android version. No idea. Gonna wipe it and start over with a new OS.

Fantastic product, just one thing........

Love this handheld! It fits in your hands nicely, the triggers and buttons feel great and are very responsive, and the choice of colours is great especially if you grew up with the old classics like snes etc. The only thing that I'm not keen on is that you still have problems running some games I.e. Goldeneye 64, wave race 64 etc. It wouldn't be such a problem if the console didn't come with these games as pre installed, but it does! So with that being said you kind of expect it to run them. This would have had a 5 star review if it wasnt for that reason, but by no means should you let this put you off buying one, because it is GREAT!!!

Great device

A very good device in general.
Build quality is good. Buttons have a nice feeling when touching them. Considering a small size of device, it's comfortable.

I would prefer a screen to be bigger, especially when playing PS1 games. It's sad that the screen is not bigger, because there are big bessels, so it feels like it could have been bigger.

HDMI outputs only in 480p and image is a bit stretched horizontally. This can be fixed in emulators, but I would prefer the image to be original aspect ratio automatically.

Device looks pretty for my taste.

In general the device is very good and I enjoy it a lot. Recommended.

Great build design, awkward OS

Anyone buying one of these already knows that it’s a “tinkerers” device, however I suggest anyone buying this watch detailed videos of the update, setup and optimisation process, as it’s far from simple

Little Handheld Rectangle of Power

This is my 1st retro handheld and I haven’t been able to put it down. It’s easy to use and set up and I’ve been installing and playing games with no issues.
