      • Only contains the RETROFLAG GPi case. You must supply your own Raspberry Pi, SD card, and RetroPie installation.

      • The RETROFLAG GPi case comes pre-assembled with a Raspbery Pi Zero W and a 32GB microSD card with RetroPie installed

    Play retro games on the go with the Retroflag GPi case which is based on the classic Gameboy DMG design. Measuring at 135*81*32mm, it is a little smaller and a little lighter at 178g. It is the perfect size and more comfortable to hold for extended periods of time than other handhelds. It is powered by a Raspberry Pi Zero W for the best speed vs size performance for retro gaming on Raspberry Pi.

    The display is a 2.8 inch 320×240 backlit LCD which is ideal for retro gaming. The GPi display is large, bright and colourful. And, unlike the original Gameboy you do not have to sit under a light to see the screen! It is the ideal retro console with games!

    There is a great D-Pad and four gaming buttons (as well as Start and Select) on the front of the case, and located on the back are two shoulder buttons. This gives the best compatibility with a range of classic gaming systems while not detracting from the case design of the retro games handheld.

    Keeping with tradition the GPi case is powered by three AAA batteries, or you can use the supplied USB cable with your mobile charger or a phone power bank.

    The Retroflag GPi retro gaming handheld can run compatible Micro SD Card images such as RetroPie with games, Lakka & Recalbox builds (all 3 are compared here).The RetroPie runs systems from the 70’s up to the 2000’s.

    Please note that some systems are not fully supported and as such some games may not run at full performance. These may be improved in future updates to the software.

    Very cool gadget

    It looks and feels pretty amazing, and with a gpi image it’s like being a kid in a sweet shop. Insane what you can do these days 😂

    GPi Retroflag

    Great portable gaming. I bought a 3d printed pi zero kit before this. Whilst I enjoy tinkering and soldering, the finished kit was clunky compared to this. Straight out of the box it feels great, looks great. Insert the pi zero, image an SD and you're good to go. With decent rechargeable batteries it lasts ages. It's infinitely customisable via retropie themes etc. There are several prebuilt images which include the display mode you need to make the zero output to the screen instead of the hdmi and the safe shutdown script you also need, retroboy being an excellent one. Most SNES, NES, Sega genesis, megadrive, mame4all and mame2003 games run great that I've tested. Easy access to the SD card means it's no problem trying out different images. The only thing I'd add would be usb access so you could plug in a cheap keyboard to aid the setup a little, even if it were a micro usb. Apparently there is a way to use a keyboard but you need to power the GPi via a powered usb plugged in to the micro SD in the battery compartment. I don't have one so can't confirm this. Otherwise it's spot on, really great replaying all the classics on the go.

    Amiga games part

    The device is wonderful and really happy with most game console setting on it, however they are a lot of Amiga games cannot use as the game wants the keyboard app to use it, so is there a way to get a keyboard app on to it or where is it on the device, , so can then get the full gaming experience on the device,

    Awesome retroflag gpi

    Ordered the Retroflag GPi case including Pi Zero and 32gb microSD. Unexpectedly it came with the pi installed and the microSD fully setup so I just had to add batteries and everything works flawlessly. Thanks very much.

    Very Easy Build received in Excellent condition.

    Item arrived in excellent condition. Assembly was very easy once I downloaded a image. Eats batteries so I'm planning on using Rechargeable batteries in the future. All that said great little handheld very pleased with my purchase.

    Great console, shame about the postage

    This little console is great and pre configured images are readily available. I received an promo email from Droix out of the blue, and having taken a look, ordered a Retroflag GPi case, as a result. I opted for a postage upgrade ( next working day), at an additional cost, to take into account delays owing to covid 19. Unfortunately having chased the order myself,a day after i was expecting receipt, for an update, it seems that it was 'out of stock' and the order was referred internally to a third party, to fulfill the order. A week later and it arrived. This is the second time I have ordered through this site and both items i have ordered/paid for have not been in stock or discontinued ( offered alternative). Although what i have received has been great, I think i would think twice about ordering from 'these guys' again. Either put a stock check on website, or if there is a delay in postage due to an internal problem, send out an email to the buyer!!
