    This thing is epic

I wouldn't recommend for everyone as there is a bit of legwork required to get some games working on this, but when you do it's a great experience.

The console feels incredibly well built and is a bit of a chonky unit. No creaks or movement of any part except the buttons as expected.

What cannot be understated is the quality of the screen on this. I've seen many reviews saying the resolution is wasted but that isn't true with some tweaking you can get games running really well. I have Elden aring running at Max graphics at 1080p at a solid 30fps with turbo mode on. The clarity and colours of the screen are amazing. I was a little worried as I'm an OLED lover but this is the best IPS I've seen. Decent blacks, great colours and minimal backlight bleed.

It never feels hot or warm in the hand and the fan is a manageable volume at full speed, does a super job of kicking the heat out of the top.

The only negative I would say with the device is that it's quite heavy and with smaller hands feels a bit of a reach for the shoulder buttons.

Droix were awesome, super fast DPD delivery, case was a freebie, and they also put in a decent UK power supply (which I actually was going to buy from them at £20!).

Overall great experience. I can't put this thing down.

I don't own a steamdeck, but have had the use of one for a week, this thing while admittedly is much more expensive is just night and day ahead of it. It's worth the extra. More storage, a way better and bigger screen (the screen on the steam deck is relatively poor), a much better quality feeling device, and I'm able to play games in better graphics and resolution. Plus I can easily use games from across all the storefronts, epic, gog, origin etc.

    I love it!

No amount of reviews on YouTube, can truly prepare you for the size of the OneXPlayer 1S. It's quite a handful. Setting up Windows 10 is quick and simple. The graphics quality during game play is excellent, and for me, I like the larger screen size.
The gaming controllers are responsive, and work well. Although, I do feel that the right thumbstick could be a little higher up. Anyone with smaller hands will likely have difficulty, operating it, and also moving quickly to right shoulder button and right trigger, during a multi-player game.
The kick stand is quite sturdy and performs well. However, the hinge feels a little flimsy. Care should be taken with it.
Overall, I'm very pleased with my OneXPlayer. Money well spent. Just waiting now for the delivery of the optional keyboard and case.
Thanks again to the DroiX team.

    Versatile PC

Amazing little device. This has similar specs to a surface pro in a handheld device. It is a little bit heavier than a switch - think ipad Pro weight, but still reasonable for an hour or two gaming sessions. The thing I like the most is like the switch I can plug it into my USB-c Dock and egpu at my desk and then play games at high resolution ultra and have a full desktop Pc experience. And when I want to chill in the lounge or bed I can unplug and take with me and play pc games at 720p medium for most AAA graphics in a portable form factor. Excellent device which is very capable for its size. The display is gorgeous at 1600p although you will only be able to play third party small indie games at that resolution.
Only issue I found is the fan is a bit loud (but it does have night mode which makes it a bit quieter).

Brilliant device, probably best of the bunch in my opinion

So, I originally backed the onexplayer on Indigogo, and later sold it in favour of buying the updated onexplayer 1S version from droix.co.uk ( to get UK service and UK warranty). This beast of a device is amazing. I have owned a number of GPD devices and have enjoyed all of them, however the onexplayer has so far been the best. Its got an amazing screen (much better than my OLED switch), and being an older gentleman, I can see the screen and read the text without issue. Its built very solidly, and feels very premium. And boy is it powerful as well. With the latest intel drivers, I have been enjoying some amazing games on the go (well, for me, that means sat on the couch or lying in bed). Doom Eternal, runs like a dream (and so much better than the Switch version), Forza Horizon 4 and 5, amazing (a few graphical glitches, but runs flawlessly).

I've been enjoying some older games as well, such as Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered, the Tomb Raider games, We happy few, Strange Brigade, Hades, Mirrors Edge, Left for Dead 2, Back to Blood, and a lot of others. It really does handle games very well. There are still numerous issues running the very latest games, so don't be expecting to play Deathloop. What I find though, is it doesn't hurt trying out a game from steam, and if it don't work, just refund it. Also, checking out various youtube videos, and if a you can find a video of a game running on the oxp, or the intel GPD devices, you should be good to go.

Often, its nice to play games on this as opposed to the Switch as the graphics and performance is so much better. Why play a game at 30fps, low resolution and muddy graphics, when you can play at 60fps, higher res.

What I like : Emulation (PS2, some PS3 and Switch, and the usual older system's), Screen, Controls, Speed, Great games, flexibility.
What I don't like : Rumble is too harsh, storage space a little limited, SD Card reader is slow

Do your self a favour if you get one. Buy the case to keep it protected, and install a game launcher, something like playnite, to get a console like experience on it.

Yes, its expensive, but if your looking at it, you already know that. Best thing about it over something like the switch : Cheap PC games - sales are so much better on PC, better performance.

Takes time to setup - but worth the wait

I bought the AMD 5800 OXP through Amazon (wish I had seen your site Droix!! - feel free to send me a freebie case/keyboard that I could have got for the £1250 I paid there.....) and it arrived next day, so great delivery. Nice packaging and all that. I immediately linked it up to my Steam account to get access to my 200 odd games (mostly older type) and was met with a shed load of compatibility issues. Some good old fashion forum/googling remedied the problems and they are all (bar 1 or 2) working a treat. They look great and the whole point of having portable access to my games has been realised. I've been sitting on the sofa playing some old games like FTL, LFD2, Starbound, just what I wanted. The other bonus is Xbox Game Pass (I've got Ultimate) which means I have access to a massive library of games there too.

I've also set up my Steam Controller (via Blue Tooth - click 'B' and 'Steam Button' to activate the Blue Tooth on the remote). The controller is awesome for mouse based games on it (Kesnhi, Homeworld etc)

    Gripes so far:
    1. for the unlearned, some of the setup I've mentioned above would be too tricky I think. If you aren't familiar with running commands from Steam (via game setup, for resolutions and windowed play) then beware - you may end up not playing very much.... Although as mentioned, a bit of time on the forums will sort this. For example, I couldn't get the Lego LOTR or Hobbit to run, I spent some time reading the forums and it turns out it is a compatibility issue, you need to change the .exe to run windows 7 compatible.
    2. The fan is a like a hurricane. Headphones advised.
    3. Battery - so so. The USB cable isn't very long, and my existing cable(s) didn't work with the plug that was supplied with it. I ordered a high wattage version (2 meter) and this solved the problem.

Overall - top bit of kit. If you want portability and a decent spec - then this is the kit for you. I have pre-ordered a Steam Deck - the only issue with that, is that I already have a Switch and the screen size will essentially be the same - the OXP's size makes it the winner for me.

Surprisingly powerful and very well designed.

I was dubious how an onboard GPU could possibly handle AAA games but the new intel Iris chip is very impressive.

Due to the Steam Deck being delayed until end of October for my order I became impatient and really liked the looks of this device due to its larger screen. I am very happy I decided to go with the OneXplayer 1s. So far I haven't had any issues which others have reported with the intel chipset drivers which may be because of recent driver updates.

I now have more time for casual gaming because of the portability of the device and not having to sit at my desktop or pull out the laptop, so finally trying some of older games and indie games in my Steam library that I have accumulated over the years but never played.

So far I have tried a mix recent and old AAA games and Indie games without any issues. The only issue for me is because i'm an old PC Gamer and not used to using controllers for FPS games it would be nice to have had a tilt sensor which I think might make FPS games easier for aiming, and a built in touch pad for playing management sims and RTS games. But i'm tinkering with settings so getting used to the controls. The only other issue which is more annoying is the SD Card reader speed, R/W is around 20-30MB which is ok for running emulator games but would have been nice to be able to buy a 1TB SD card with fast 100MB+ RW speeds to expand storage.

Another great feature with the intel model is the ability to add an EGPU so I plan on setting it up to my TV with an EGPU and couple of Xbox controllers to turn it into a family console.

I have played GTA V and also tried Elite Dangerous on this and the heat pipes and fans on this thing do a great job. At no point has the device at the back become hot and the fan noise is very quiet IMO.

I am loving this device, powerful enough and super convenient for casual gaming.

ONEXPLAYER 1S - the best emulation handheld!

I bought this to be used primarily as an emulation handheld and, for this purpose, I am extremely impressed. I am emulating sysems all the way up to Wii U ans PS3 with fantastic results.

One of the key attractions was the 8.4 inch screen. I have other gaming and emulation handhelds, many of which I love, but being able to play these games on such a large and impressive screen makes a huge difference.

Whilst I still have a Steam Deck "pre-ordered" I no longer expect to use it as the emulation handheld I had one proposed to - I expect the OneXPlayer will suit that need better than the Steam Deck will. Thanks DroiX!

    The big guy

This handheld is lovely, its screen is really bright and comfortable to use.
The chip is powerful and the setup is really usable despite the lack of a trackpad and a physical keyboard, it does the job for casual settings and use.
The major inconvenience lays in its size and weight that restricts its use for adults hands and its ability to use as a daily carry 😜

    Amazing handheld

This is a beast of a machine. I know it won't play AAA games at full resolution and framerate, but it's solid for older pc games and excellent for emulation on the go. Screen is beefy but beautiful to look at.

Great CS by Droix as usual. Speedy delivery and highly recommended.
