GPD Pocket 2 Celeron Mini Laptop Ultrabook

Got it delivered last day of 2020. Very pleased with it, bought it to use with Amateur Radio equipment / updates etc. However have now set it up with Netflix/ BBC iPlayer/ iTunes etc and find it great for watching programs on it using Bluetooth headphones. Definitely a bargain as there was a 30% discount on it over holiday period.

First of all the build quality, it is very good, I can't fault it, it looks fantastic.
Performance, for what I use it for again it's fine, it's mostly used for office tasks, surfing the web and watching YouTube, all of which it does without any issue.
I had seen a few reviewers criticise the keyboard, well I am afraid it's a seven inch machine, you can't expect a 14 inch keyboard experience, so that is harsh to complain about it.
Although I do have two minor complaints, the first is, this machine should have an illuminated keyboard, it's hard to use in a dark environment and secondary, why did the touch sensor lose the ability to double tap, please enable it, in a firmware update, other than that I can't fault it.

Just simply excellent so happy I do recommend and I am a genuine real person!!!!

The GPD Pocket 2 is a great device.
It provides the power of a full computer and is still small enough to git into a (large) pocket.
The fact that the fan can be turned off is especially nice for doing simple tasks in quiet environments.

Ideal pocket/palm-sized PC for Presenters, Trainers, Writers, Programmers, and Techies on-the-go. Good performance and battery life, great screen, good keyboard (especially for 2, 4, 6-finger typists; less so for touch-typists), and good connectivity options for LCD Projectors, Monitors, USB sticks, and more.

Fits the inside of my pocket nicely, both jacket and trousers pocket, which makes it a great travelling companion. Works extremely well for office applications (writing Work/College/University essays, and creating professional presentations), browsing, listening to music, and coding.

The battery life lasts a solid 6 to 8 hours for continuous typing, browsing, and creating presentations. A little less when streaming videos via Netflix and Amazon Prime.

If the 7" screen and small keyboard don't put you off, and the half-kilo weight of the device is light enough for you to hold on to while reading it's a wonderful portable pocket PC.

If you're anything like me, a 2-, 4-, 6-finger typist, the keyboard has an excellent response and is fast. A touch typist will type slower as the keys are closer together and smaller than an ordinary keyboard.

The touch screen is clear, colourful, and responsive with good accuracy. The display scale and layout at 150% makes it easy to read the text on the screen despite being 7".

The pointing device, an optical device works as a left- and right-mouse click too. There are two separate left- and right- mouse buttons along the top of the keyboard too.

During the first week of use, I've written business e-mails, 2 essays, and a PowerPoint presentation in Communication that I present using the GPD Pocket 2 device connected to my LCD Projector via an HDMI cable. It works brilliantly!

I've done a 2-hour Voice-tracking session for Real FM on this device, connected to an external monitor and a USB-microphone. This is a brilliant device, perfect pocket/palm-sized performer for people on-the-road. I can't recommend this enough.

I have watched eagerly from the inception via Indigogo, through gen 2, and have been foaming at the mouth to purchase one of these beauties. Now that I have purchased the Pocket 2, I am elated beyond words! I LOVE IT!

Well very impressed with this, well made quality product, 5 minutes out of the box and up and running. Seems fast enough although I expect it would do even better with a slightly faster processor however for the price it is more than acceptable. Would I recommend it, yes I would with the understanding it is not a power laptop. Looking forward to more time spent on it.

Great little device, decided to migrate from a Surface Go and find it snappier, more roomy and much more fun. It is surprisingly fast, zero problems setting it up, have added a 512 SD card although the 256 gb internal is a breath of fresh air after the 128 on the Go. Don't miss the pen and have an external webcam which is actually more flexible. Fan is a little noticeable but my old Mac Book 13 drown it out. Use with an external mouse and monitor so not had to engage the optical mouse much, although this is very responsive. The ‘mouse' buttons are a little stiff so this may take a while to become 2nd nature. USB charging is so much faster and efficient than the Go. Still need to push the battery but so far its been mainly desktop bound.
