The RG351V is powered by the Rockchip RK3326, clocked in at 1.5GHz. It also features a respectable 1GB of DDR3L RAM. Between the RAM and the CPU, the RG351V is easily capable of handling a variety of platforms. From retro PC games to 5th generation home consoles, or even 7th generation handhelds.

The Anbernic RG351V retro handheld sizes up at approximately 14 x 9.4 x 2.68, making it a highly portable handheld console that can easily fit in your bag or suitcase, making it a perfect travel companion for long commutes, train rides, plane flights, or otherwise. In addition, the RG351V features a 640x480p screen allowing for crisp visuals in all your retro games.

Unlike its contemporaries, the Anbernic RG351V utilizes a unique twin-card storage design. With one SD card dedicated exclusively for the operating system and emulators, and the other card dedicated exclusively to games, it has never been easier to quickly and easily manage your collection across multiple SD cards, and add/remove titles on the fly without even needing to turn the system off.

The RG351V also packs a 3900mAh battery which enables it to run for up to a maximum of 6 hours off a single charge (lifetime will vary depending on CPU load and screen brightness).

Finally, the RG351V also features built-in Wi-Fi, granting access to added facilities such as database scraping for game art – to keep your collection of titles organized at their best.

ANBERNIC RG351V

The unit is well made, solid and comfortable. The screen is excellent and the sound is adequate. It's a disappointing upgrade from the previous RG351 models, with little changing over than the form factor. If you don't have anything similar, it's worth your time and money but you WILL need to invest time into getting it set up and running as best possible.

One major gripe however was the way the unit was sent. Having spent the best part of 100 pounds, I expect my purchase to be properly and safely packed for transit. Sending a valuable item in just a bag, with zero protection is not acceptable. The box for the item should not be used as the once source of protection.

Good build quality, big screen!

I've got a 351p and a 280v, so I was excited to pick the 351v up. There's enough little upgrades on the P to warrant an upgrade, but maybe wait until the custom firmware is out officially?

Great handheld.

This is my first emulator handheld and it was good to wait out as this does fit all my requirements. The retro nostalgia factor is supreme, since this is so close to the original Gameboy (especially in the grey outfit). The screen is excellent and just the right size for most of the games this will support. The buttons are top notch with amazingly responsive feel. There is wifi, and all ports are in the right place (headphone jack at the bottom). The software is adequate to get you going from the start, but I am sure much better versions should be coming soon. If I had one criticism is that the placement of the hands (especially if you have big hands) can feel a bit awkward after long sessions, but then this was designed for teenagers and not for 40 year olds, right? Or maybe not ;-) Excellent service from DroiX.

New to the emulation side of things but getting my head round it 👌I have the gba sp ags 101 and PSP 3000 the rg351 v seems to play those very well 👍i found great support for this device on YouTube with the likes of (retro game corps) etc very helpful tips you should check out ! Peace 🤟

Great screen, great custom firmware, needs better buttons.

I've been waiting for a Gameboy style retro gaming handheld to come to market that had the power to play up to PSX games and so far I'm really pleased the RG351v. Advice online was to invest in better micro SD cards and install a custom firmware. I went for 351elec and I am very happy with how it runs. It is a definite improvement over the stock firmware and well worth the time spent in downloading and installing. The ROM selection and scraped art work that came with the console were random and performance on the included N64, Dreamcast and PSP game was mostly terrible, so again it is well worth the time setting the RG351V up with better emulators , roms, and Skraper, etc.
The only thing that let's the RG351V down are the buttons. There is too much travel on the Dpad and the face buttons are quite poor. Meaning that things like special moves in fighting games can be very hit and miss.
I would certainly buy the next model if the manufacturer can get the buttons right. The buttons do not ruin the expirience for me, for most games they work well enough, but they are not in the same league as Official Nintendo systems.
