The Anbernic RG353V and RG353VS retro gaming consoles provide a choice of dual boot Linux & Android operating systems or Linux OS only.

Both the RG353V and RG353VS feature the RK3566 Quad-Core 64 bit Cortex-A55 processor running up to 1.8GHz. The RG353V has 2GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 32GB of internal eMMC storage for Android OS. The RG353VS retro gaming console has 1GB of LPDDR4 RAM and no internal storage.

With both the RG353V and RG353VS, there is a 16GB micro SD card which contains the Linux operating system. There is also a 64GB micro SD card which is used for the retro gaming consoles main storage.

The RG353V and RG353VS retro gaming consoles have 3.5” IPS 4:3 display with 640×480 resolution. The RG353V model is touchscreen for use with Android, the VS model is not. Both displays are bright and vibrant and are the perfect resolution for retro gaming.

Measuring just 4.9 x 3.2 x 0.8 inches (12.6cm x 8.3cm x 2.1cm) and weighing 193g, the vertical orientation RG353V and VS models are very light and pocketable. Despite the small size, full gaming controls are present with dual clickable analogue sticks, D-Pad and gaming buttons. On the back of the retro gaming console are left and right shoulder and trigger style buttons.

The fast and reliable WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2 get you online for updating game information as well as playing compatible retro gaming systems with others online. The HDMI output is great for large screen gaming with your retro gaming console.

Both models of retro gaming console are powered by a 3200mAh li-polymer battery. Depending on which retro console you are running, you can expect up to six hours battery life on the RG353V and RG353VS. In our tests we got 3 hours 46 minutes running a benchmark on loop which is very good!

The RG353V and RG353V offers a great choice of dual boot or Linux only operating systems depending. They support many classic consoles from the earliest up to more recent 2000’s handhelds. With the very respectable battery life this retro gaming console is ideal for quick pick up and play while commuting or travelling!

Great little device

Once you do some research and get your head around the operating system it’s a great little device. Instructions from manufacturer are scarce in detail but lots of help online. SD could be better , I’ve just swapped it out with a branded one

New to emulators but this is great

My first time with an SBC or handheld emulator. The buttons are nice and responsive. The screen has great colour and clarity. It's lighter than I expected but feels solid and good quality. I love how it looks, brings me great nostalgia. The stock OS is easy to use which is good as I don't have a clue how to install other firmware.

It does exactly what I wanted it to do, for a decent price. Screen brightness and clarity is good. I haven't used the speakers much, but they seem decent enough. No complaints while using headphones so far. If I was to be particular about anything, then I would prefer it if the buttons were a bit clickier, but they're not overtly spongey either.

A step towards the perfect handheld

For me; the ultimate handheld would be a version of this in a slightly bigger but slimmer, sleek, shiny-smooth metal body with a slightly bigger screen, updated android and a bit more power. So glad to have the ease of android and built in storage with this handheld at long long last rather than that fiddly Linux and SD cards that keep stopping working. For me this is a step towards perfection and I'm totally addicted to car battler Joe on GBA again after... A few years.

Debo de reconocer que me tiene sorprendido esta maquinita. Soy de la generación del 75 y tener esta Anbernic en la mano me trae muchos recuerdos. Me encanta la jugabilidad y la fluidez con la que se mueven los juegos. El único "pero" es que con mi falta de vista me resulta complicado jugar a determinados juegos con elementos pequeños. Me soprende que tenga de todo en tan poco espacio....dos joystick, botoneras traseras, HDMI, dos ranuras microSD..... Resumiendo un juguete muy chulo que te puedes llevar para todos lados y echarte una partidita a cientos de juegos.

I am going to be using this company a lot from now on.

Fantastic. Got my device delivered by DHL within two days of ordering during the postal strike. Retro and Arcade Heaven

I’m a casual gamer with a preference for retro and arcade games and this little handheld is fantastic. The screen is crisp and bright giving old titles a new lease of life and the portable nature of it means it will accompany me on my work trips. The build quality is excellent feeling robust with good responsive buttons. The service from Droix must also be mentioned as it was fast and fuss free.

Absolutely awesome

Absolutely awesome. The console is made of good quality materials, it holds well in the hands. The games run smoothly without major stutters. Only PS1 some games has single frame drops however, it is nothing serious issues. What shocked me the most was the sound quality and the built-in speaker which is very good and clear even at the highest volume level. The only cons I found were the price and low RAM. 2GB with dual OS it might not be enough for android.

Great handheld

Love this device, after ArkOS is installed and working it's a great handheld. The size is slightly smaller than RG351V which is ideal for me as I have a Miyoo Mini which rocks but this is just right. The sound is actually better than I expected and coming from the middle of the console it doesn't get blocked by your hand. Buttons are fine, i do have some issues with certain things where i need to quickly swap buttons it sometimes doesn't register but we can't have everything. Might need to mod it to improve this. Shoulder buttons i haven't used a lot but these again are working great, nice clicky feel.

I think this is by far the best retro handheld gaming device I've used. Perfect for the pocket, great battery life, love playing speccy games like jet set willy then psp games and all the rest on 1 device. The screen is also really good, 100% happy and better than I expected. Perfect for all retro games I absolutely love it

Great unit - don't ignore the cheaper 1gb option!

I own about half a dozen emulation handhelds, from anycubic, powkiddy, trimui etc - and this blows everything else away. PS1/ Dreamcast emulation are both fast and smooth, The button feel is just right, and the device is just the right size for my largey hands, not too big, not too small, everything falling where it ought to. Excellent screen, useful 640x480 resolution, no tearing, and the battery like is also really good (especially while running 16 bit era titles - long Chrono Trigger sessions etc!) Definately worth replacing the stock firmware with ArkOS when you get it, its a big improvement in performance for several emulators, and the consistent retroarch ui is useful. Also - don't hesitate to go for the non-touch, 1gb version, it handles dreamcast etc just fine!
