    The Anbernic RG353V and RG353VS retro gaming consoles provide a choice of dual boot Linux & Android operating systems or Linux OS only.

    Both the RG353V and RG353VS feature the RK3566 Quad-Core 64 bit Cortex-A55 processor running up to 1.8GHz. The RG353V has 2GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 32GB of internal eMMC storage for Android OS. The RG353VS retro gaming console has 1GB of LPDDR4 RAM and no internal storage.

    With both the RG353V and RG353VS, there is a 16GB micro SD card which contains the Linux operating system. There is also a 64GB micro SD card which is used for the retro gaming consoles main storage.

    The RG353V and RG353VS retro gaming consoles have 3.5” IPS 4:3 display with 640×480 resolution. The RG353V model is touchscreen for use with Android, the VS model is not. Both displays are bright and vibrant and are the perfect resolution for retro gaming.

    Measuring just 4.9 x 3.2 x 0.8 inches (12.6cm x 8.3cm x 2.1cm) and weighing 193g, the vertical orientation RG353V and VS models are very light and pocketable. Despite the small size, full gaming controls are present with dual clickable analogue sticks, D-Pad and gaming buttons. On the back of the retro gaming console are left and right shoulder and trigger style buttons.

    The fast and reliable WiFi 5 and Bluetooth 4.2 get you online for updating game information as well as playing compatible retro gaming systems with others online. The HDMI output is great for large screen gaming with your retro gaming console.

    Both models of retro gaming console are powered by a 3200mAh li-polymer battery. Depending on which retro console you are running, you can expect up to six hours battery life on the RG353V and RG353VS. In our tests we got 3 hours 46 minutes running a benchmark on loop which is very good!

    The RG353V and RG353V offers a great choice of dual boot or Linux only operating systems depending. They support many classic consoles from the earliest up to more recent 2000’s handhelds. With the very respectable battery life this retro gaming console is ideal for quick pick up and play while commuting or travelling!

    Great handheld

    Love this device, after ArkOS is installed and working it's a great handheld.

    The size is slightly smaller than RG351V which is ideal for me as I have a Miyoo Mini which rocks but this is just right.

    The sound is actually better than I expected and coming from the middle of the console it doesn't get blocked by your hand.

    Buttons are fine, i do have some issues with certain things where i need to quickly swap buttons it sometimes doesn't register but we can't have everything. Might need to mod it to improve this.

    Shoulder buttons i haven't used a lot but these again are working great, nice clicky feel.

    100% happy

    I think this is by far the best retro handheld gaming device I've used.

    Perfect for the pocket, great battery life, love playing speccy games like jet set willy then psp games and all the rest on 1 device.

    The screen is also really good, 100% happy and better than I expected.

    Great unit - don't ignore the cheaper 1gb option!

    I own about half a dozen emulation handhelds, from anycubic, powkiddy, trimui etc - and this blows everything else away. PS1/ Dreamcast emulation are both fast and smooth, The button feel is just right, and the device is just the right size for my largey hands, not too big, not too small, everything falling where it ought to. Excellent screen, useful 640x480 resolution, no tearing, and the battery like is also really good (especially while running 16 bit era titles - long Chrono Trigger sessions etc!)

    Definately worth replacing the stock firmware with ArkOS when you get it, its a big improvement in performance for several emulators, and the consistent retroarch ui is useful.

    Also - don't hesitate to go for the non-touch, 1gb version, it handles dreamcast etc just fine!

    Nostalgia overload

    Build quality is great, ergonomics can prove slightly difficult with more demanding games, if you have large hands you maybe more suited to the RG353M (probably my next purchase!) Battery life is solid, comes with a glass screen protector which actually fits so well you wont even notice it's on! Overall you cant beat the value for money..with the cost of living being so high these days I can see these consoles becoming more and more popular. I love it.

    Good buy, high quality

    Screen is bright and clear. Sound can get very loud, though I find that after turning the handheld off and on again, sound seems to be reset to very loud which can be shocking in a quiet environment. Unfortunately, volume buttons seem to be a little temperamental so getting the volume back down quickly isn’t always easy.

    Rest of the buttons on the console give great feedback and the machine itself feels robust and of a high quality. Happy with the purchase.

    Good but flawed.

    Overall a good idea, software seems solid and with good build quality.

    Not very ergonomic when using the shoulder buttons with the sticks though. Will go for a horizontal unit next time.

    Great machine – you will need to go online for helpful tips

    Machine showed up and perfect condition. Nice boxing! I had to go online for helpful tips and hints to learn how to navigate. I feel like I’m pretty tech savvy, but I was able to find a few websites and videos that help me understand how to navigate menus. So great that it’s portable and the battery seems to last for a decent amount of time.
