The RG350 retro games handheld is the latest in the line of RG series devices. It features a JZ4770 Dual Core processor running at 1.0Ghz with DDR2 512MB RAM. Storage is provided by a Micro SD Card which can be up to 128GB. The display is a 3.5 inch IPS screen at 320×240 resolution which is perfect for displaying retro games.

Many have compared the RG350 as a spiritual successor to the GCW Zero which was a popular retro games console a number of years ago. The horizontal handheld, measuring 14.5cm X 7.3cm X 1.4cm, features a digital D-Pad, dual analogue controls, four front facing game buttons, Start & Select, and four shoulder buttons. This means you can enjoy both older handhelds, and newer consoles with any control method.

The RG350 runs the OpenDingux operating system and if you are looking for a retro gaming console with built in games then look no further. It includes the popular retro consoles and systems from the 70’s up to the 90’s.

Just short of Amazing

I’ve been blown away by how good this little machine is. Pocket sized emulation on a lovely looking machine for around £100...for me, that’s insanely good value.

From an emulation point of view, I only really use it for arcade, gba, dosbox, spectrum, scummvm, and snes, and it runs most of this stuff perfectly. I’m having trouble running some dos games but I’m not sure yet if that’s a settings issue or a hardware limitation (I think it’s the latter, or a slightly crap dosbox port). My machine’s audio has a few issues - it ‘pops’ when initially loading something, and the min volume (without headphones) is overly loud. These seem to be common issues and can probably be fixed with a firmware update.

I love the devi...

I love the device - it feels solid and plays games extremely well. The buttons have a great feel to them, and the joysticks are excellent. Shipping was also far faster than I'd even hoped.

Great device, flawed security sticker

I love the device - it feels solid and plays games extremely well. The buttons have a great feel to them, and the joysticks are excellent. Shipping was also far faster than I'd even hoped.

My only complaint is that the DroiX security sticker placed over the firmware microSD card slot appears to have melted in transit, and the clear outer layer of the sticker pretty immediately fell off when I first handled the device. I never intentionally removed any part of the sticker, but over my first few days of regular handheld use, it gradually disintegrated, leaving a sticky, shiny residue in its place. Once this happened, I needed to scrape this residue away to avoid it getting all over my hands and potentially damaging the microSD or its slot. I mistakenly believed that this sticker was a warranty sticker and that removing it would void my warranty, but DroiX Support has since let me know that removing this sticker actually does NOT void the warranty; rather, it just helps them troubleshoot if a device is returned for a defect, since it helps them determine if the firmware has been replaced.

So, learn from my experience - if the sticker over the TF1/INT microSD slot appears to be falling apart, go ahead and remove it immediately to avoid sticky residue everywhere.

Great build, lo...

Great build, loads of games very happy with my purchase, however some ROMs didn’t work and when u transferred to a bigger sd card the neo geo games didn’t work anymore.

Looks and feels lovely, just a bit lacklustre on power and OS

I will likely keep this one as really like the metal and the screen is excellent. But the OS isn’t attractive and it’s not a powerful device so limited.

Recently purcha...

Recently purchased this device from Droix, can honestly say it is such a good handheld, the only let down with it is the software which is a little hard to get to grips with, makes a nearly perfect handheld a little less perfect.

Like many befor...

Like many before me, I love the feel and quality of the buttons and the analog sticks are a joy to use, especially in their new positions compared to the original RG350. But also like many before me, we would all prefer a plastic unit and let the increase
