Black Friday is almost here! Are you ready for the DroiX Black Friday Sale? Score great savings on a variety of gaming mini PCs available to buy at DroiX, with shipping both in the UK and worldwide!

What is a gaming mini PC?

Did you know that gaming PC’s no longer need to be huge, bulky towers, possibly draped in all manner of LEDs and assorted gaudy aesthetics?

That’s right. Thanks to the steadily increasing power of components coupled with their drop in size, it is now more viable than ever to relagate your gaming to an ultra-compact PC. Often known as a “mini PC” (or “gaming mini PC”, for the purposes of this article).

A gaming mini PC is self-explanatory in name. it is a gaming PC that is miniature in size. Able to be held comfortably in one hand, and can easily fit into essentially any location in the home.

The trade-off of opting for a mini PC is essentially only raw power. Of course, these PCs will not be as powerful as some behemoth monster PC with a 12th Generation i9 and a top-end 30-series NVIDIA GPU, but they also won’t take up nearly as much space (and also won’t be as expensive either).

All-in-all, if you’re an avid gamer but don’t have the space or budget to commit to a fully-sized tower PC, it’d be worth checking out some of the best gaming mini PCs we have here at DroiX!

DroiX Stheno F5 | A Discrete GPU Mini PC

DroiX Stheno F5 - Frontal Angled View

The Stheno F5 is our most stand-out example of a gaming mini PC here at DroiX. It is the first device we have ever sold to feature an dedicated graphics card. This is a NVIDIA GTX 1650.

The presence of a dedicated graphics card completely skyrockets the Stheno F5’s performance as a mini gaming PC with high framerates being achievable in both AAA games and retro emulators. Leveraging its 4GB VRAM and the turing architecture to deliver high-fidelity visuals across the board.

This GPU works in tandem with an 9th generation Intel Core i5-9300F (the “F” series being a line of processors that do not feature integrated graphics), DDR4 SO-DIMM RAM, and an M.2 NVMe SSD to provide an experience so solid you’d even forget you were using a mini PC in the first place.

The Stheno F5 also features a standard collection of ports and interfaces to ensure that you do not have to sacrifice compatability. With dual-display support via HDMI and DisplayPort, as well as 7 USB ports (6x Type-A, 1x Type-C), a 3.5mm headphone jack AND a gigabit ethernet port, you will not find yourself lacking in connectivity options.

(And yes, it does feature built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth as well!)

To learn more about this awesome tiny gaming PC, we highly encourage you to give our review a look. You can also check out our benchmarks, in case you don’t believe that it can really run AAA games!

MinisForum EliteMini X500

The MinisForum EliteMini X500 is the latest in experienced manufacturer MinisForum’s “EliteMini” line-up of mini PCs.

The X500 is a direct successor to the previously popular X400 Ryzen-powered mini PC. The overall design for the outer shell is reused to house a newer Zen 3 series processor. This being the AMD Ryzen 7 5700G.

This Zen 3 processor that makes use of AMD’s “Cezanne” architecture provides some of the best performance you can find on the market today when it comes to integrated graphics, with an impressive GPU frequency of 2000MHz, and 8 processor cores that run in tandem to reach speeds of up to 4.6GHz.

This, like many other models, is backed up by swift dual-channel DDR4 RAM and an M.2 NVMe SSD, to provide an overall outstanding user experience. Excelling in not only games, but general productivity tasks too (encoding video, etc.).

The X500 also features a bevvy of ports to connect your peripherals with. Stand-out features include three separate dedicated audio jacks (LINE IN, MIC IN and HP OUT), two gigabit ethernet ports for expanded network functionality, a microSD card slot for quickly changing files , and the standard duo of video outputs (HDMI and DisplayPort), and four USB Type-A ports.

All this is contained within a mini PC that is barely over a kilogram in weight, compared to a full-sized gaming PC that may weigh ten times that amount.

For those on a tighter budget, there is also a slightly cheaper variant containing a Ryzen 5 5600G processor.
