The Retroid Pocket 3 retro gaming handheld uses the ARM Unisoc with Cortex A75 @ 2.0Ghz & A55 @ 1.8GHz. It features the PowerVR GE8300 for graphics, running at 800Mhz. There is 3GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 32GB eMMC storage for Android. You can expand the storage via a micro SD card.
The Retroid Pocket 3 is very portable at only 7.2 x 3.1 x 0.9 inches (18.4 x 8.1 x 2.4 cm) and lightweight at 240g, it can easily fit into a jacket pocket or small bag. The 4.7” touchscreen is an upgrade from the previous model and looks bright and vibrant. The retro gaming handheld features clickable dual analogue sticks, D-Pad and the standard gaming buttons. It is very comfortable to play for extended gaming sessions.
With Android 11 you can enjoy the latest in Android games and apps with the built in Google Play Store. The Retroid Pocket 3 has built in screen mapping software that you set for buttons to mimic screen presses. It makes gaming, such as first-person shooters, far more fun, responsive and easier to play than pressing the screen.
The Retroid Pocket 3 can connect to the big TV via the Micro HDMI port on the retro gaming handheld. It supports up to 720P which is great for games and emulators. There is WiFi 5 for online access, and you can download and update apps or play supported retro games via RetroArch with friends online.
The Retroid Pocket 3 runs on a 4000mAh rechargeable battery. In our tests we left it running for 6 hours running benchmarks, and around 6 hours playing Mega Drive. More demanding systems may use more battery life. It is a great retro gaming handheld for your daily commute or for when travelling thanks to the easily portability and long battery life.
